RAB Day 3
There was no musical wake up call this morning as we were staying in our own rooms in Bath University, and even though I had a bed, I kinda felt disappointed :o)
There was no musical wake up call this morning as we were staying in our own rooms in Bath University, and even though I had a bed, I kinda felt disappointed :o)
Today's wake up music was 'let's get ready to rumble' by Ant and Dec, I never thought I would be smiling when I heard this song again!
This morning was hard, waking up stiff, with a sore back and it did not look like it was going to be a good day!
The day started off at 5:30am with all the speakers around the camp blasting out "I want to ride my bicycle" by Queen, absolutely brilliant, definitely the right sort of music to get you going in the morning :o)
Well, I am here at last, after 284 hours and 4019 miles of training since 1st January, I am sat here at the base camp in lands end.
Well, the time has arrived, in just 5 days I will be starting the hardest physical and mental challenge of my life, yes that’s right, the Deloitte Ride Across Britain is here.
Day 1: Land’s End - Okehampton 108 miles 4783ft of climbing
Today I took part in the woodcote sportive, in total, including cycling to and from the event it was 97 miles, of 30 degree sunshine and the biggest climbs I have attempted to date.
I have finally managed to get out in the open water, and swim in the sea! I have been several times now and have become addicted, it is hard work, and can be nerve racking when the waves are choppy, but it gives you such a rush!
