So its been sometime since I wrote a blog, Since completing the Ironman in September I have been taking a break from any cycling or running training. Instead I have been focusing on weights and core strengthening (something I have wanted to do for a while but not had the time).
First things first, I bloody did it, I swam 2.4 miles, cycled 112 miles and ran 26.2 miles, I completed an Ironman!
Well, this is it, three days until the Challenge Henley Iron Distance triathlon, 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile cycle and lastly a 26.2 mile run.
Do I feel ready, no, do I feel prepared…yes!

I headed to North Wales on the Friday with Sarah (kid free as with grand parents) and went straight to register at the event to save time the following morning, were also meeting up with two friends (Dylan and Jo) as Dylan was also doing the event with me.
Monday started off with a bang, with a 06:20 cycle to the gym, 770m swim in the outdoor pool followed by a 14 mile cycle up to Winchester.
It has been a hot one this week, ranging between 27-30 degrees, which has been a real eye opener training, being British I can honestly say I am not used to training in this heat, although enjoyable, it does make endurance training twice as hard…
